Man United’s Berbatov ‘Ready To Quit’, Could Miss Aston Villa Game
Dimitar Berbatov has emerged an early injury doubt for Manchester United’s weekend trip to Aston Villa.
The 27-year-old striker picked up a leg injury while featuring for Bulgaria in the international against Serbia last night and was replaced in the first half.
In case the former Tottenham Hotspur star, who has failed to show his prolific form so far this season either for the Red Devils or his country, is not fit for Sir Alex Ferguson’s side at the weekend, Wayne Rooney will partner Carlos Tevez up front in the Premiership clash against the Villans, who beat Arsenal last weekend.
So frustrated has been Berbatov with his criticism in his country for what the Bulgaria FA and coach feel stems from lack of desire on field, that the former Bayer Leverkusen star is ready to retire from international action.
His agent Emile Danchev is quoted in the Sun as saying: “Dimitar said to me that, because people blame him for Bulgaria’s bad performances, he is ready to quit the national team.”
