Man City To Swoop For Santa Cruz? - Man United, Arsenal & Spurs Also Linked
New Manchester City boss Mark Hughes is set to raid former club Blackburn Rovers for Paraguayan International Roque Santa Cruz, who has also been linked with a move to Arsenal, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur this summer.
Hughes is looking for a strike-partner for club record signing Brazilian International Jo, who joined City from CSKS Moscow earlier in the summer for £18million.
Santa Cruz joined Blackburn from Bayern Munich in 2007 for £6million, but Hughes is reportedly ready to double that and pay £12million to bring the Paraguayan to the Eastlands Stadium.
However, Rovers manager Paul Ince is reluctant to let the forward leave Ewood Park, having just seen David Bentley move to Spurs in an initial £15million deal. With it believed that the former Manchester United player values Santa Cruz at £15million and is unlikely to let him leave the Lancashire club for any less.
