Man City To Overtake Chelsea In Riches & Plan Bid For Blues Skipper John Terry - Reports
According to reports, Manchester City are not only set to become way richer than Chelsea but the Eastlands club are also planning to snap up the Blues and England captain John Terry.
Since the Abu Dhabi United Group (ADUG) reached an agreement to take over at the City of Manchester Stadium, cash has not been an issue for City anymore as the prospective new owners showed their intent by helping boss Mark Hughes in signing Robinho at the British transfer record fee of £32.5m from Real Madrid on the summer transfer deadline day by upstaging Roman Abramovich-owned Chelsea.
City are now set to be confirmed as the richest club in the Premiership once the takeover is completed. According to The Observer, Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, expected to be City's new chairman, is the brother of Abu Dhabi's leader, who has a family fortune of more than £555bn. Abramovich's wealth is said to be around £11bn.
Meanwhile, the Mirror reports that City are preparing a bold bid for 27-year-old centre-back Terry, who has been with Chelsea since his youth system entry in 1995. It is claimed that ADUG are prepared to pay Terry as much as £200,000 a week.
