Man City To Lose Out To AC Milan For Ronaldinho
Manchester City’s attempt to sign former FIFA world footballer of the year Ronaldinho from La Liga Champions Barcelona, looks set to end in failure, with the Brazilian International “80-90 per cent” to sign for Serie A side AC Milan, according to his agent and brother Roberto De Assis.
De Assis has confirmed that 28-year-old Ronaldinho will probably sign for the Rossoneri, and that both sides are working towards finalising a deal to take the striker to the San Siro.
"It's true that he'll probably go to Milan," De Assis said.
"Everything's ready for the transfer. He is there 80-90 per cent and we are working towards that.
“He is working hard to get back to his best and the important thing is that now he is fine and that he is working for his future".
De Assis also dismissed suggestions that his brother would be joining England International David Beckham at MLS side LA Galaxy:"It's not possible because he is only 28 and he wants to play at least five or six years more at the top level in world football".
This will come as a blow to new Eastlands boss Mark Hughes, who was hoping to pair Ronaldinho with club record signing, fellow Brazilian International Jo, who has just signed for City for £19million from Russian side CSKA Moscow.
