Man City Boss Eriksson Set For Transfer Funds, Eyes Five New Signings - Report
Manchester City boss Sven-Goran Eriksson is likely to get a reported £30million to spend in the summer transfer window.
According to the Mirror, the former England boss told club owner Thaksin Shinawatra yesterday he needed around £50million, as he aims to strengthen the City squad, but is unlikely to get that much.
Eriksson took charge of City last summer and with several additions to the squad, has kept the Eastlands club in contention to clinch a place in Europe for next season.
It is also reported that the Swede wants at least five new players in the close season with the areas to be strengthened being striker, a holding midfielder, right-sided player and keeper.
Amongst the players who are reportedly likely to leave the club are Sun Jihai, Andreas Isaksson, Geovanni, Rolando Bianchi and Georgios Samaras.
