Man City Boss Eriksson Hints At Transfer Plan

With the summer transfer window drawing closer, Manchester City manager Sven-Goran Eriksson has revealed that a ‘very, very big name’ has been discussed.

It is likely that City owner Thaksin Shinawatra will once again hand out significant funds to boost the squad in close season.

Eriksson told City's website: "That is one of the things we discussed - if we take in an older player - and if we do it must be a big name, a very, very big name who can fill the Stadium.

"At this moment we haven't contacted any clubs yet. It was a good meeting because now we know more or less what kind of players we want to take in. And we want to try and do that.

"Hopefully the fans will see some new faces next season but it's too early to talk about that. The important thing coming out of the meeting was that it's clear that the targets are 'this' and 'this'."
