With no development on the transfer front as Liverpool are yet to come back for Gareth Barry with the right offer, Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill has asserted that the wantaway captain will be in the squad for Intertoto Cup game against Odense.

The 27-year-old England international has set his sight on moving to Anfield this summer, while Arsenal are also credited with interest in the defensive midfielder. Playing in Europe for Villa, would not affect Barry playing in the Champions League if he moves to Anfield or for that matter to the Emirates Stadium.

O’Neill told Sky Sports News: "He's in the right frame of mind and he'll be in the squad for the game tomorrow.”
