Liverpool Sell Le Tallec To Le Mans, ‘Final’ Offer Reports On Aston Villa’s Barry Denied

Liverpool, Aston Villa Premiership Transfer News

Liverpool have completed the sale of Anthony Le Tallec to Le Mans with the forward signing a four-year-deal with the French club, meanwhile the reports on Gareth Barry transfer saga about a final offer being made is denied by a club spokesman.

23-year-old Le Tallec failed to develop his potential to its maximum after Gerard Houllier had brought the young Frenchman to Anfield in 2003 after seeing him impress in France's Under-17 World Cup-winning side.

Le Tallec only managed one goal for the Reds, and had loan spells with Le Havre, St Etienne, Sunderland and Sochaux, before going last season on loan to Le Mans.

Meanwhile, the Reds have claimed that they have not made a "final" offer – as reported on Wednesday morning - for Aston Villa midfielder Barry, who is rated at £18m by Martin O’Neill.

Rafa Benitez has been reported to have put his final punt on the table with the offer comprising £15million outright, with £2million to come depending on Liverpool's league position next season.

However, the Merseyside club has denied the reports with a club spokesman saying, "We have no further information" on the Barry situation.
