Liverpool’s Antwi Moves To Rovers On Loan
Liverpool have loaned out defender Godwin Antwi until January, to League One outfit Tranmere Rovers.
The 20-year-old, who can play across the defence as well in the midfield, was part of the Reds’ FA Youth Cup winning side in 2006.
Of the Ghanaian descent, Antwi, who has been in the Spanish national youth setup, came to the Merseyside club from Real Zaragoza in 2005.
He spent the last season on loan at Hartlepool, where he scored one goal in 27 appearances. Reds boss Rafa Benitez has now allowed him to go in for more valuable first-team experience.
Rovers boss Ronnie Moore said: "Godwin is a very talented young defender who we've been watching for some time.
"When I heard he had become available on loan I jumped at the chance of bringing him in to play right-back.”
