Liverpool’s Albert Riera Geared Up For Challenge At Anfield
Liverpool's new-signing left-winger Albert Riera admitted that he knows that all eyes will be pinned on him when he makes his appearance for the Reds, but claimed that he is all geared up for the challenge.
The Spaniard joined Rafael Benitez’s side from Espanyol this summer, having already tasted action in the Premier League during his six months loan spell at Manchester City in 2006.
"I understand the expectations," Riera told the Post.
"I like the responsibility and have never been scared when on the pitch. I will continue the way I have throughout my whole career. I wasn't surprised by how physical it was in England.
"It is more than Spain, but I knew that beforehand.
"When I was at Manchester City, I found out what the Premier League was like and I'm now prepared for it. I'm prepared to do the tackling and not just be the one being tackled!"
