Liverpool Not To Sell Benayoun, Says Agent After West Ham & Man City Linked
Yossi Benayoun’s agent has dismissed speculation around the Liverpool midfielder after recent reports linked the Israel international with his former club West Ham United and Manchester City.
Several other Reds players namely Andriy Voronin, Jermaine Pennant, Steve Finnan, Xabi Alonso and Alvaro Arbeloa are also being surrounded by uncertainty over their futures with manager Rafa Benitez admitting to the need to sell to fund a move for Aston Villa’s £18m-rated Gareth Barry.
However, Benayoun’s agent doesn’t feel Benitez is looking to sell the 28-year-old former Hammers man, who came to Anfield last summer after a protracted chase.
Ronen Katzav told skysports.com: “There has been no contact or talks with any club about Yossi.
“All summer there has been speculation about Yossi, but he has a contract with Liverpool. I don’t believe Liverpool want to sell Yossi and he is just concentrating on life at Liverpool.
“It is nice that everybody is interested in Yossi, but from our point of view he is only thinking about Liverpool.”
