Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez has disclosed that Wales striker Craig Bellamy is likely to be back for Middlesbrough's visit to Anfield on Wednesday.

Bellamy suffered a knee injury in the Champions League quarter-final home clash with PSV Eindhoven on Wednesday.

The 27-year-old former Newcastle and Blackburn ace was later ruled out of Saturday's visit to Manchester City and the Boro match. He was expected to be out for 10 days and recover in time for the Champions League semi-finals at Chelsea on April 25.

But on Friday, Benitez told a press conference at Melwood: "I hope Bellamy will be back for Middlesbrough. The scan showed it was not really serious."
