Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard’s neck problem is set to keep manager Rafa Benitez waiting to make a decision, ahead of tomorrow’s Champions League semi-final first leg with Chelsea at Anfield.

The England international missed the weekend’s 2-0 Premiership win at Fulham after injuring his neck during training last week.

Benitez however, disclosed encouraging news that the Reds talismanic midfielder was feeling better after working with the club’s medical staff.

“With the neck, you never know,” said Benitez. “The neck is always dangerous so you need to wait. I think he was a little bit better on Saturday. We’ll wait.”
