Kanu Extends Portsmouth Stay
Nigerian International striker Nwankwo Kanu has signed a new one-year deal with Portsmouth, which should end any speculation about the former Arsenal player leaving Fratton Park this summer.
It is believed that the deal has a clause to trigger an extra year if the 32-year-old plays a certain number of games next season.
Kanu, who scored the winning FA Cup Final goal for Pompey against Cardiff City, revealed that Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp was the main reason in extending his two-year stay at the South coast club.
Kanu told the club's official website: “I love it here and I want to be part of the team so I'm happy to have signed my new contract.”
“Harry is the main man. Everyone wants to play for him.
” We want to achieve great things. I've said from day one that I love the club and want to do more for the club.
“I want to do well for the fans - they're the best supporters in the Premier League - like the 12th man.”
