Injury Jinx Continues For West Ham As Ashton & Etherington Ruled Out

West Ham United’s injury jinx is showing no sign of an end as striker Dean Ashton and winger Matthew Etherington joined the injury-enforced absentees.

Ashton has reportedly suffered a back problem and the 24-year-old, who has scored six goals so far this season, continues to be troubled with injuries. Etherington, who has been in great form this season, is said to have a knee injury.

As such, manager Alan Curbishley has been forced to make two changes to his side for today’s clash against Manchester City from the one that lost to the same opponents at the City of Manchester Stadium in the FA Cup on Wednesday, bringing in Carlton Cole and Hayden Mullins.
