Injury & Suspension Misery For Blackburn Ahead Of Arsenal Clash But Hughes Stays Hopeful

Blackburn Rovers Player Injury and Suspension News

Hit with injury and suspension problems, Blackburn Rovers manager Mark Hughes however hopes that Andre Ooijer and Steven Reid will be fit for Monday night’s Premiership clash against leaders Arsenal.

Rovers meanwhile have David Dunn, Morten Gamst Pedersen and Chris Samba suspended for the trip to the Emirates Stadium.

"Andre turned up and had himself checked by the Dutch doctors whilst on International duty," Hughes said on the club’s official website.

"There was a possibility that he could have played for Holland, but his fitness would have been compromised. I think they came to the right conclusion not to play him.

"Steven went through exactly the same process, he went over to Ireland and got himself checked. He has got a little bit of fluid on the knee which needs draining, luckily we have had a window of opportunity to be able do that.

"We are very hopeful that they will both be okay for Monday. We've got a number of players out, but it is an opportunity for other players of course."
