Hull To Smash Club Transfer Record To Land United's Campbell?
Premier League debutantes Hull City are believed to have made an official offer for Manchester United striker Fraizer Campbell, with manager Phil Brown determined to land the player that helped the Tigers win promotion to the Premiership, while on loan last season, according to reports.
20-year-old Campbell spent last season on loan at the KC Stadium, scoring 15 goals in 34 appearances, with the United forward being instrumental in helping the Yorkshire side gain promotion via the play-offs.
Reports earlier in the summer had hinted that Brown wanted to take Campbell back to Hull on loan for this season, but now it would appear that the Hull boss has made a club record £7million offer to try and lure the England Under-21 International away from Old Trafford on a permanent basis.
Hull are also said to be chasing a loan-deal for Sunderland defender Paul McShane, which would add credence that the move for Campbell is a permanent one. With Premier League rules stating that any club can only have a certain quota of loan players. Something Hull would have fulfilled if McShane should leave the Stadium of Light.
