Hull Sign England Youth International Oxley
Premier League debutantes Hull City have signed teenage goalkeeper Mark Oxley from Rotherham United for an initial fee of £150,000, with Oxley to make the switch to the KC Stadium to provide cover for Boaz Myhill and recent signing Tony Warner from Fulham.
England Youth International Oxley did not make a senior appearance for the Millers, but was on the bench at the Don Valley Stadium many times last season.
Rotherham it is understood will receive further payments from the Tigers depending on how Oxley’s career progresses.
Millers manager Mark Robins revealed there were several clubs interested in the young keeper, but felt that the deal represented sound business for the League 2 side.
“We have had some interest in Mark from a number of clubs and we received an approach, which came from Hull City,” Robins told the club's official website.
“We have looked at the offer and we feel that it is a very good deal for the club.
“We are getting a large percentage of the fee up front and if Mark continues to progress then it will benefit us further on in the future.”
