Huddlestone Signs New Tottenham Deal – Everton & Aston Villa Miss Out On Target
Tottenham Hotspur have tied up Tom Huddlestone with a new five-year contract at the White Hart Lane, thus dismissing speculation on the midfielder’s future with Everton and Aston Villa both having been linked.
The 21-year-old, who was called up to the full England squad for the end-of-season internationals against the USA and Trinidad and Tobago by new boss Fabio Capello, has now committed to Spurs until 2013.
Huddlestone, who joined Spurs in 2005 from Derby County, had his future under speculation after he felt the wrath of the Juande Ramos regime as the Spanish tactician enforced strict diet regulations. The powerful midfielder however, bounced back sporting a slimline frame and played a key role as the north-Londoners beat Chelsea in the Carling Cup final.
