HALF-TIME UPDATE: Liverpool 0-0 Middlesbrough – Boro Hold Reds At Break Despite Heavy Pressure

Middlesbrough, Liverpool Premiership Match Reports

Middlesbrough have managed to hold Liverpool to a goalless draw at halftime in their Premier League encounter at Anfield on Saturday.

Both the teams are playing attacking football, with several moves between them.

Middlesbrough started off with the same team that won against Tottenham last weekend.

Liverpool on the other hand were happy to have skipper Steven Gerrard in the squad after sustaining a groin problem.

However it was some fine combinational work by Robbie Keane and Fernando Torres which caught everyone’s eye.

In the very second minute Liverpool came forward with a well built move when Spanish ace Fernando Torres weaved his way past the defenders and neatly set-up Dirk Kuyt, however Kuyt's powerful shot was brilliantly saved by the outstretched Boro keeper Ross Turnbull.

Torres was once again on the prowl for the Reds keeping the rival defenders on their toes. This time he made a fine run and rolled the ball towards overlapping Robbie Keane who failed to direct his shot goal wards.

Liverpool continued with their onslaught where Dossena charged into the Boro territory and flashed a dangerous cross which was timely collected by Turnbull.

The half finished 0-0, but with the home side pressuring the visitors throughout.
