Galatasaray To Swoop For Blackburn's McCarthy
South African International Benni McCarthy has revealed that he is wanted by Turkish side Galatasary, but also admitted there had been no offer as yet for him to make the switch from Blackburn Rovers.
30-year-old McCarthy enjoyed a tremendous first season at Ewood Park, but struggled to reproduce the same form in the Premier League last season. With some reports linking him with a move to Chelsea said to have affected his form.
Now it appears that Rovers team-mate Tugay made McCarthy aware of the Turkish sides interest. With it believed that the Asianlar are eager for the South African to make the switch to the Ali Sami Yen Stadium before the transfer window slams shut on August 31st.
“I'm unaware of any offer, but it doesn't surprise me because my friend Tugay told me I was on their shopping list two months ago,” McCarthy confirmed.
