Franck Ribery To Sign For Bayern Munich – Set To be Most Expensive Bayern Player – Arsenal & Real Madrid Miss Out

France winger Franck Ribery, who was a target for Arsenal and Real Madrid, is set to move to Bayern Munich leaving Olympique Marseille in a deal believed to be worth £17million. He is expected to agree a four-year contract.

The Bavarians, who had began discussions with the Ligue 1 side, are set to complete the signing on Thursday when he will have his medical.

If the deal goes through without any last-minute hurdle, 24-year-old Ribery will become the most expensive player in Bayern's history.

"We just have a few details to settle, but the deal should be made on Wednesday," Marseille chairman Pape Diouf told L'Equipe.

"Ribery will leave for Munich on Thursday to have his medical and sign the contract. Bayern have always acted in a perfectly fair way since they declared their interest.

"When the player agreed to go to Bayern and our financial conditions were accepted, it was out of the question to imagine him going to any other club."
