Everton have sealed a season-long loan deal for Ecuador International midfielder Segundo Castillo from Red Star Belgrade.
26-year-old Castillo had been at Crvena Zvezda since joining from Venezuelan team El Nacional in 2006, and has scored 19 goals in 72 appearances from midfield for the Meridian Superliga runners-up.
Castillo had earlier being targeted by Blackburn Rovers and even went there for a triall, but he failed to agree terms over a move to Ewood Park and will now join the Toffees at Goodison Park.
Castillo told the club's official website: "I know that Everton are a big club who have a history of playing in important competitions like the UEFA Cup.
"I hope I can do my best for the team."
