Newcastle United, Everton Premiership Transfer News
Everton are set to sign Alan Smith from Newcastle United in a £3m deal, according to the Daily Mail.
The 27-year-old England international can play in different positions including attack and in an unfamiliar defensive role, and as such his versatility and hardworking nature, seems to have convinced Toffees boss David Moyes to make a deadline day deal.
The former Leeds United and Manchester United player’s future has been under speculation all summer after an unimpressive stint at St James’ Park last season.
Toffees boss Moyes has had a largely frustrating time in the summer transfer window, and has failed to attract his top targets to the Goodison Park club.
