Everton midfielder Tim Cahill is determined to come back fully fit in the pre-season, after a foot injury ruled him out for the rest of the ongoing campaign.

The Australian international had been troubled with a metatarsal problem since late last season, but his latest blow came in the early stages of the home draw with West Ham United last month.

The 28-year-old said: "I started my rehab programme the day after I broke it again.

"One thing I am is experienced in this game, and I know exactly where I am with my foot injury.

"When it comes to pre-season, it will be like I haven't been out of football."
