Everton & Fulham To Reach Compromise Over Johnson So Moyes Can Swoop For Moutinho?

Fulham, Everton Premiership Transfer News

Everton are ready to let England International Andy Johnson join Fulham, with it believed that the two Premier League sides have reached a compromise to allow the striker’s switch from Goodison Park, according to reports.

The £13million deal had stalled, when a routine medical gave the Cottagers concern over an old knee injury of Johnson’s. The Toffees had threatened to pull out of the deal, but are now believed to have renegotiated, with the deal on offer meaning Fulham still paying the full amount over a longer period of time and based on appearances.

If Fulham should accept these terms then the 27-year-old forward could become a Craven Cottage player today. This will give Everton manager David Moyes the funds to mount an offer in the region of £14million (€17.7m) for Portuguese International Joao Moutinho of Sporting Lisbon, who Moyes has been chasing all summer, with an initial offer already being turned down by the Lisbon club.

21-year-old Moutinho has already made public his desire to leave the Verde-e-Brancos, with the central-midfielder favouring a move to the Premiership. However Sporting are prepared to fight to keep their young star at the Estadio Jose Alvade and have slapped a £18million (€22.7m) price-tag on Moutinho.
