Everton boss David Moyes has revealed that it will be a late decision that will rule whether midfielder Mikel Arteta can play in Sunday’s home game against Aston Villa.

The Spaniard has been recovering in his homeland after missing the last two games with stomach injury.

Moyes told evertonfc.com: "Mikel Arteta isn't back from Spain yet and will return tomorrow so it will be a very late shout on Mikel.

"He has asked for another day in Spain and we have given him that so we will see how he is tomorrow.

"I don't think there is any surgery required, that's for sure."
