Everton manager David Moyes insists striker Andy Johnson is not for sale amidst reports that a host of Premiership rivals are keen on the England international.
Speculation has been rife that the Toffees could move for Tottenham’s Darren Bent, and use funds from the sale of the former Crystal Palace man to finance that deal.
Wigan Athletic, West Ham United, Newcastle, Middlesbrough and Sunderland are all linked with the 27-year-old Johnson.
Moyes has dismissed speculation over Johnson’s future, telling evertonfc.com: "Andy Johnson is not for sale - it is that simple. He is a highly-valued member of my senior squad and I look forward to seeing him when the players report back for pre-season training."
