Everton boss David Moyes is reportedly set to make a move for Tottenham Hotspur striker Darren Bent with reports suggesting that it could spell the end of Toffees stay for Andy Johnson, who is linked with West Ham, Wigan, Newcastle, Middlesbrough and Sunderland.

Bent had failed to make a regular place for himself at White Hart Lane following his club record £16.5 million move from Charlton last summer. His future has been under speculation as Juande Ramos builds the north-London side with Champions League being the target for the next season.

Bent, who is also linked with Sunderland, is considered by many as the perfect strike partner for Toffees’ record signing Yakubu.
