Everton are hoping to arrange a date to hold talks with Joleon Lescott over a contract extension at Goodison Park, amidst reports that Arsenal and Manchester United have developed interest in the defender.

The 25-year-old still has over two years to go on his current contract with the Toffees and manager David Moyes has claimed that he is confident that the versatile defender will stay with the Merseyside club.

"Joleon has two-and-a-half years to go on his contract so we're not desperate about his situation," said Moyes.

"We'll be speaking again to him over the next month, but it won't be a problem."
