Everton Baffled By Valencia’s Claims That Manuel Fernandes Will Sign 6-Year Deal At Mestella Subject To Medical: Report
Everton are reportedly baffled due to a report on Valencia’s website that Manuel Fernandes has agreed a six-year deal with the La Liga side, as the Merseysiders were expecting to complete the permanent signing of the Portuguese midfielder from Benfica.
Fernandes, who was impressive in his loan spell with David Moyes’ side in the second half of last season, was also reported to be keen to sign permanently for the Toffees and as such trained at Bellefield for the past week after the Portuguese side agreed the move.
However on Sunday, Valencia website claimed the 21-year-old international would sign at the Mestella subject to passing a medical and according to the Liverpool Echo, the Toffees are to investigate.
It has also been reported that Fernandes is part owned by Global Sports Agency and as such the claims of Valencia might be a stunt to get him a better deal.
