Kevin Keegan’s Newcastle United have been dealt a blow with the news that midfielder Emre will be out of action for up to two weeks with an ankle injury.

The 27-year-old Turkish international suffered the injury while playing for the Magpies reserves after scoring a fine solo goal during the 1-1 draw with Man United at St. James' Park on Monday.

Keegan told Newcastle World TV: "Unfortunately Emre has injured his ankle playing for the reserves. He'll be out for about two weeks which is a shame because he could have been in the squad for Reading."
