Emile Heskey 'Touch and Go' For Euro Qualifier Against Croatia, Says Wigan Boss Hutchings
Wigan Athletic boss Chris Hutchings is not very sure whether striker Emile Heskey can recover in time for England's final Euro 2008 qualifier with Croatia at Wembley next month.
England international Heskey had fractured his metatarsal in The Latics's 1-1 draw with Fulham in September and has been on the sidelines ever since.
"I doubt he will be ready for the Croatia game," Hutchings told Sky Sports News. "It will be very much touch and go.
"It depends on the workload he can get in beforehand and obviously whether he is match fit. I would say that it is probably just on the negative side.
"He is coming along nicely but slowly. He has probably got another three weeks and it just depends on the progress he makes.
"We are governed by the medical staff. He has got to be 100 per cent fit before he comes back."
