Despite Loss Chelsea’s Avram Grant Confident Of Making It To Another Champions League Final
After Chelsea’s 6-5 loss via tiebreaker to Manchester United in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday, boss Avram Grant was in a very disappointed mood but he still had a positive spark within him, claiming that he will take the club once again to the European league finals.
As the match finished 1-1 after extra time the match went to penalties, where Cristiano Ronaldo’s kick was blocked by the keeper giving the Blues an advantage, but with John Terry missing his strike due to a slip, the Red Devils got an opportunity to come back into the match.
Later Nicholas Anelka failed to score the decisive penalty kick which handed over the European Cup trophy to the Red Devils.
Despite the loss the manager has praised his players and is confident that the Blues will once again be seen in such type of finals.
"What can I say? In the beginning we dominated the game, as we have two times before, and then we lost on penalties.
"He was slipping over, but John Terry is the main thing that we are here for. We had a terrible - not terrible - difficult time but he was part of us, so we are not sorry for him, but for the team.
"The team were excellent, I'm very proud of them.
"But Terry? He was great. He was great, obviously, and great in the semi-final, and in this game. He's the reason they didn't create almost any chances in the game.
"Frank Lampard - yes, he was good. Also, Didier had chances of course, but...
"It's not the last time for Chelsea in this final."
