Derby, Sunderland & Bolton Linked With Blackburn’s Jason Roberts
According to reports, the already-relegated Derby County are vying with Sunderland and Bolton for Blackburn Rovers striker Jason Roberts.
The Rams boss Paul Jewell, who has recently revealed that he aims to bring in new players for the rebuilding of the side for a life in the Coca-cola Championship, has reportedly set his sights on making a £2million bid for Roberts.
However, Black Cats and Trotters – both of whom are still fighting to avoid relegation to the second division, are also said to be keeping a close watch on Roberts situation.
Former Wigan man, Roberts is aiming for regular football and has not been able to keep his place at Mark Hughes’ side under stiff competition from Benni McCarthy and Roque Santa Cruz; and due to injury problems this season.
