Derby midfielder Robbie Savage is hoping to see Blackburn qualify for Europe again and Birmingham City relegated to the Championship.

The former Wales international, who left Rovers for Rams in January, had fallen out with Blues over his switch to Ewood Park in 2005.

The Blues play Rovers on the final day of the season at St Andrew’s, and Savage, who is close friend of Rovers midfielder David Dunn, told the Sun: "I talked to Dunny earlier in the season and he said: 'Just imagine if we go to Birmingham on the last day and we put them down.'

"I'm not there now but Dunny still is and it could happen. If it did it would be an amazing fairytale.

"I'd love to see Blackburn back in Europe again. It would be great for the club."
