Could Zaki Eventually Get Out Of Wigan’s Reach? Top Premiership Clubs Watching, But Steve Bruce Confident

Wigan Athletic Premiership Transfer News

If Amr Zaki’s form continues, there is the possibility he goes out of reach of Wigan Athletic where he is currently on loan from Egyptian side Zamalek.

Latics boss Steve Bruce has also admitted the fact that his good form since the start of the season could work as ‘double-edged sword.’

The Premiership outfit have, however, an agreement in principle to sign the Egypt international striker, who has scored five Premier League goals so far in seven games, at the end of the current campaign.

With his instant impact for the JJB outfit, top Premiership clubs are said to be watching the powerful forward with great interest.

However, Bruce is sure that his side have the advantage in getting to keep the 25-year-old permanently and there is lot of time to tie up the move despite Zaki recently stating that he will keep his options open.

"There is an agreement in principle with his club," Bruce told the Wigan Evening Post.

"I've said repeatedly that there is a lot of the season to go, so there is no rush.

"Zaki is ours at the moment – let's enjoy while we can. We will try to set up a deal when the time is right. We're in pole position to sign the lad because he's here at the moment.

"It's a double-edged sword – the better he does here, the more expensive he will be. I've got to say Zaki has started better than we thought he would.

“We brought him here because we thought he could make an impact, and we're delighted because he's certainly done that.

"There's a long way to go yet, a long winter ahead. Hopefully he'll continue how he has been doing."
