Corluka Completes Tottenham Transfer
Tottenham Hotspur have signed Croatian International Vedran Corluka from Manchester City for an undisclosed fee thought to be in the region of £9.5million.
22-year-old Corluka has been heavily linked with a move to White Hart Lane in recent weeks, but City manager Mark Hughes was reluctant to let the right-back leave the Eastlands Stadium.
However, with the arrival of Olympic Gold medallist Pablo Zabaleta at City, Hughes has let Corluka sign for the North London club after spending just one season in the Premier League with the Blues.
Corluka will link up with former Dinamo Zagreb team-mate Luka Modric at Spurs, who made the move to the North London side earlier this summer.
“We are delighted to announce that we have reached agreement with Manchester City for the transfer of Vedran Corluka to the club,” read a statement on Spurs’ official website.
Corluka said: “I am delighted to be here because I am coming to a big club with great players, great ambition and also my best friend [Luka Modric] is here so it is a very happy day for me.”
