Rosenborg's Playmaker Skjelbred Linked To Newcastle United
Premier League club Newcastle United have shown interest in Rosenborg’s playmaker Per Ciljan Skjelbred, although his advisor Andreas Ekker says the Magpies are yet to make an official approach.
Newcastle boss Kevin Keegan who had a mixed return to St James' Park last season, has already started strengthening his squad for the upcoming season, and has made Norwegian Skjelbred a main target.
21-year old Per Ciljan Skjelbred's impressive performances for Rosenborg have caught the attention of many leading clubs.
“All the clubs from the big leagues have been watching him,” Skjelbred’s advisor Andreas Ekker said.
“So far what I can say is that there has been no contact with Newcastle has yet”.
“He is very ambitious, and if Newcastle came to us with an offer, then we would have to seriously consider it.
