Chelsea v Spurs Premiership Preview: Joe Cole & Drogba Out For Blues, Ramos To Play Berbatov?

Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea Premiership Match Previews

Top of the Premiership Chelsea take on Tottenham Hotspur at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

Blues boss Luiz Felipe Scolari will be hoping his Chelsea side can continue their perfect start to the campaign, having won 4-0 against Portsmouth in their opening game and being slightly more fortunate to come away from the JJB Stadium with a 1-0 win against Wigan Athletic last week.

While Spurs will be looking for a considerable improvement on their opening two fixtures, having lost both 2-1 to Middlesbrough at the Riverside and then at White Hart Lane to Sunderland last week. With manager Juande Ramos eager to pick up his first Premier League points.

Tottenham will be missing Hossam Ghaly (knee ligament) and Scottish defender Alan Hutton (ankle) for the London derby with Chelsea. Ramos could play Roman Pavlyuchenko in attack, should the Russian complete his move from Spartak Moscow in time and may even partner him with Berbatov.

The Blues will have to do without Joe Cole (ankle), with Scolari unlikely to risk Didier Drogba (knee) or Ashley Cole (thigh) for the visit of Spurs. Chelsea’s new signing Deco is set to start, with the Portuguese International being in outstanding form in the opening two matches.
