Chelsea Striker Andriy Shevchenko To Undergo Groin Operation On Tuesday - Ruled Out of FA Cup Final

Chelsea striker Andriy Shevchenko will undergo a groin hernia operation on Tuesday, announced the club on their official website.He will miss the FA Cup final against Manchester United on May 19 at the new Wembley.

Earlier the club had said that the Ukraine international will be operated at the end of the season. But on Monday, the Blues confirmed that the surgery will be carried out tomorrow as their medical department decided to prepone it.

The 30-year-old former AC Milan star had missed the Champions League semi-final decider loss at Liverpool last week and the Premiership draw at Arsenal on Sunday.

Fellow summer signing Michael Ballack is also out since his ankle operation two weeks back.
