Chelsea Midfielder Steve Sidwell Content At Stamford Bridge Despite Offers From Villa & Boro
Former Reading midfielder Steve Sidwell claims that he very happy with Chelsea and isn't planning to move anywhere, despite several clubs showing interest in signing him.
Amongst the clubs interested in the player are Middlesbrough and Aston Villa, but the players agent maintains that Sidwell is content at Stamford Bridge.
Steve Sidwell is reportedly happy at Chelsea, despite the interest of several clubs. Sidwell is believed to be earning £50,000 a week and is keen to continue his current wage.
Middlesbrough and Aston Villa are both considering a move for the player, but his agent has poured scorn on rumours, saying that he is unlikely to be going anywhere this summer.
”Steven is very happy at Chelsea,” agent Eric Walters told the Evening Gazette. “If Chelsea accept a bid for him then that will be a different matter and Steven would have to think about his future.
“I’m not saying he would welcome the offer or disregard it. If Middlesbrough made a bid and Chelsea accepted it then he would have to look at his options.
“His situation is he’s under contract to Chelsea for another three years and there hasn’t been any indication from the club that they want to sell him. Steven is happy to stay and fight for his place.”
