Chelsea’s Joe Cole & John Terry Should Recover For England World Cup 2010 Qualifiers, Says Scolari
Chelsea boss Luiz Felipe Scolari has allayed fears over Joe Cole and John Terry injuries, claiming that the duo should be fit for England's upcoming World Cup 2010 qualifiers against Kazakhstan and Belarus.
Blues winger Cole suffered a foot problem in the second half of Sunday’s 2-0 win over Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge following a challenge by Villa midfielder Stilian Petrov; and limped out of the field.
"It's a little problem in the foot,'' Scolari said. "But I think two or three days with the national team and he should be in the condition to play.''
On defender and captain Terry, who has an ongoing back problem, the Blues boss said: "John Terry the same. Two or three days rest and with the national team doctors and he can play. He is a fantastic man. He wants to play.''
England boss Fabio Capello must be comforted by Scolari’s comments that it was only minor problems for the duo ahead of Wembley outing against Kazakhstan on Saturday. Their next match is away to Belarus four days later.
