Chelsea Offer Pizarro To River Plate
Chelsea misfit Claudio Pizarro has been offered to Argentine club River Plate, according to River president Jose Maria Aguilar.
29-year-old Pizarro moved to Chelsea as a free agent last summer, but has struggled to hold down a regular spot in the first-team at Stamford Bridge, since arriving from Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich.
Pizarro is also a Peruvian International, but is not thought to figure in new Blues boss Luiz Felipe Scolari’s plans at Chelsea, with the offer of his services being made to River Plate.
“We've had an informal chat.” Aguilar told the Press Association.
“We are offered a hundred players. Pizarro is a first-class footballer playing at one of the most powerful, most important clubs in the world.”
When asked if he would sign Pizarro, he replied: "Right now, there is no real chance [to sign Pizarro].”
