Chelsea To Fight To Keep Lampard After Reports Claim Inter Milan Move Agreed

Chelsea are apparently keen to keep Frank Lampard for new manager Luiz Felipe Scolari to build his side around the experienced midfielder, who is reportedly in agreement to move to Jose Mourinho’s Inter Milan.

Recent reports have claimed that the 30-year-old England international, whose Chelsea deal ends in 2009, has agreed to move on a four year contract at San Siro to reunite with his former Blues boss.

However, the west-Londoners are not ready to sell him at any price according to a source, and even if he insists, they are ready to see that he plays out his contract at Stamford Bridge.

"Frank is priceless to Chelsea and is not for sale at any price," a senior insider at the club is quoted as saying in The Sunday Mirror.

"There are further talks planned with Frank and his people and a very lucrative contract offer will be made to him.

"In the unlikely event he decides to turn down a new contract offer we would rather hold him to the final year of his existing deal than entertain the thought of allowing him to join another club."

The Telegraph reports ‘Scolari has already identified Lampard as key to his vision for the club's future and will be less than pleased to hear that the midfielder wants to leave West London.’
