Chelsea Boss Scolari For Wright-Phillips Talks - Portsmouth, Aston Villa & Man City Linked

Portsmouth, Manchester City, Chelsea, Aston Villa Premiership Transfer News

Chelsea boss Luiz Felipe Scolari has stated that he will hold talks with Shaun Wright-Phillips with regards to the winger’s future as Portsmouth, Aston Villa and Manchester City are all linked with the England International.

With regular football at Stamford Bridge being limited for Wright-Phillips, the 26-year-old has apparently emerged as top target for the likes of Pompey, Villa and his old club City this summer.

However, Blues new boss Scolari has revealed that Wright-Phillips has not asked for a transfer so far and claimed that he is a ‘very important player’ for the west London club. But talks certainly look to be on the cards.

"I have not asked him if he wants to go to another team," said Scolari.

"He is here and is playing for Chelsea, I don't know anything about him wanting to go to another team.

"He is training very well every day, he is a very important player for us. This is the first time I have heard anything about Wright-Phillips wanting to move.

"I will have to ask Shaun if he wants a change."

Wright-Phillips had joined the Stamford Bridge outfit in 2005 in a £21million deal from Manchester City.
