Chelsea Boss Scolari Wants A Striker
Chelsea boss Luiz Felipe Scolari is apparently set to bring in a new striker in the forthcoming transfer window.
The Blues have two experienced stars up front in Nicolas Anelka and Didier Drogba, who has been troubled by injury problems this season. The back-up is down to teenager Franco di Santo, who is yet to prove his talent in the Premiership.
French international Anelka has, however, been in prime form this season and former Portugal head coach Scolari is delighted with the performances of the former Arsenal and Real Madrid ace.
Nevertheless, the West-London club are linked with a January move for the likes of Newcastle United captain and England striker Michael Owen and Barcelona’s French maestro Thierry Henry.
Scolari, who missed out on signing Brazilian attacker Robinho in the summer, has been hinting for some time now that he needs a player or two to bolster his plans at Stamford Bridge.
He said: "It is fantastic for me when I have all the players to pick from, more choice, because many times I have 14, 15, 16 players.
"When I have Drogba, Anelka, Di Santo, and maybe one more player in the future, it is very good for me. When I only have one, it is difficult.
"But Drogba and Anelka can play in the same team, when they have time to play together in training and when they are both in good condition."
