Arsenal, Manchester United, Newcastle United Premiership Transfer News

Leeds United will face a battle to hold on to Fabian Delph as a number of clubs in the Premier League, including Manchester United, Arsenal and Newcastle United are looking to lure the midfielder away from Elland Road during the January transfer window.

19-year old Delph has just signed a new four–year contract with the Yorkshire side, but continues to be linked with the Gunners along with Premiership Champions United, while the Magpies have reportedly already had an offer turned down by the League 1 side to take the highly rated youngster to St James' Park.

Although Leeds chairman Ken Bates resisted the bid from Newcastle to bring the England Under-21 International to the Premiership, questions are now being asked as to whether Leeds will be able to hold on to Delph in January, with Red Devils manager Sir Alex Ferguson keen to have the midfielder at Old Trafford, while Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger will be hoping to persuade Delph that he will not receive a better football education away from the Emirates Stadium.

Wenger is understood to be weighing up a £6million bid For Delph as he prepares to go head-to-head with Ferguson again, having pipped the United manager to the signature of Aaron Ramsey from Cardiff City in the summer.
