Bolton v West Brom Premiership Preview: Record Signing Elmander Out For Bolton, Valero Set For Baggies Debut

Bolton Wanderers, West Bromwich Albion Premiership Match Previews

Gary Megson’s Bolton Wanderers take on West Bromwich Albion at the Reebok Stadium on Saturday.

Bolton will be hoping to bounce straight back from a 1-0 defeat to Newcastle United at St James’ Park last week, having won their opening Premier League fixture against Stoke City.

While Baggies manager Tony Mowbray will be hoping to pick up his first points in the Premiership, having lost their two opening games to Arsenal and most recently Everton at the Hawthorns last week.

The Trotters have made no new signings this week, but will be boosted by striker Kevin Davies signing a new deal at the Reebok on Thursday. Bolton will be missing record signing Johan Elmander, who wont shake off a hamstring injury in time to face West Brom and also midfielder Matthew Taylor, who has an ankle injury.

West Brom will hope to give record signing Borja Valero his Baggies debut, with Abdoulaye Meite set to face the club he left in the summer, but will have to wait on the availability of striker Luke Moore (thigh strain) and defender Neil Clement (knee). While Felipe Teixeira is still on the sidelines with knee ligament damage and not expected back until November.
