Blackburn Rovers manager Mark Hughes is worried over a possible spell on the sidelines for Andre Ooijer, who suffered a hamstring injury in the 2-0 defeat against Arsenal last night.

The Rovers boss is yet to know the severity of the injury, but is predicting that the 33-year-old Dutch defender may have to be sidelined for 'a number of weeks'.

"He's been playing excellent, he's got fantastic experience, he's played in huge games all across Europe and that experience comes to the fore," Hughes told the club's official website.

"Of late he has probably been our outstanding performer and we are disappointed that it looks like we are going to lose him for a number of weeks now.

"We hope it is not too bad with Andre, it is obviously going to take a couple of days before we know the full extent of the injury, I would imagine if it is the hamstring again then it is going to be a minimum of three to four weeks.

"But by the time the game against Bolton comes around Chrissy Samba is available so that softens the blow somewhat."
